Remove The Barrel

Remove the sling (if present). Move the slide forward and unscrew the barrel retaining cap from the end of the magazine.

Slide the barrel forward to remove it.

Remove The Trigger Guard

Using the bump on the barrel retaining cap, push out the two trigger guard pins.

Use the threaded side of the barrel retaining cap to hook the pins and pull them out.

Swing the rear of the trigger guard down to remove it.

Remove The Bolt

Lay the firearm down so the top is downward, lift the action bars slightly and pull the fore-end slide forward to separate the action bars from the bolt assembly.

Squeeze the bolt assembly to compress and rotate the bolt head. Lift the bolt assembly out of the receiver.

Slide the fore-end forward to unhook and remove the action bars from the receiver.

If necessary, disassemble the firing pin by removing the firing pin retaining pin located on the side of the bolt assembly.

Pull out the firing pin and spring. The firearm is now completely disassembled. The parts can now be checked and cleaned.

Reassembly

insert the firing pin and spring in the bolt assembly and secure with the retaining pin. You may need to press the firing pin in to insert the retaining pin. Squeeze the bolt assembly and set it in the receiver. You may need to slide it backward or forward to properly install it.

Hold the firearm vertically and insert the fore-end action bars into the fore-end guides

Place the firearm horizontally, lift the fore-end action bars slightly and hook them onto the bolt assembly. There are several notches in the action bars that match several notches in the bolt assembly.

Check to be sure that the action bars are in the correct position.

Slide the fore-end forward and swing the trigger guard up into the receiver.

Secure the trigger guard with the two pins, insert the longer pin in the forward hole.

Install the barrel and secure it with the barrel retaining cap.

Remove The Recoil Pad

The recoil pad may be difficult to remove the first time. It may take quite a bit of force. I prefer to stand the firearm up with the muzzle on a soft surface (carpet works well). Pull up one end of the recoil pad while pulling the middle of the pad over to the side. I do not recommend trying to pry the pad off with a screwdriver, knife, etc.

The recoil pad has been removed.

You can see how the kit fits into the stock. You can simply shove the parts of your kit into the stock, but I cut a few pieces of cardboard to fit inside the stock. This took a little trial and error. Make a rough shape and check for fit with a flashlight. Adjust the shape by trimming the cardboard or taping small pieces on.

My kit includes the following:

I put several of the flat items between the cardboard. Everything is securely taped so it doesn't rattle in the stock. Most items are sealed in little plastic bags. To clean the barrel, tie a knot in the cord, slide the washer on, slide a patch over the washer and pull through the barrel. The cord can also be used as fishing line for the hooks (among other things).

Dryer lint mixed with petroleum jelly is a great fire starter. Dry lint will burn well for a few seconds, but adding petroleum jelly will cause the lint to act as a wick. The petroleum jelly burns very well, even if it's a bit wet.
